WE ARE PERFORMANCE ADVANTAGE BASEBALL
A home for families who love baseball.
Since 2007, Performance Advantage Baseball has been committed to developing players the right way. We are a youth baseball organization built on the belief that long-term growth matters more than short-term results, and that every motivated player deserves quality coaching and a clear path to improvement.
We believe baseball should be taught with purpose and accountability. That means experienced coaches who focus on fundamentals, work ethic, confidence, and respect for the game. There are no shortcuts and no empty hype here — every practice, workout, and game is designed with development in mind.

Over the years, this approach has produced real results:
-
Hundreds of players earning spots on their high school rosters
-
Dozens advancing to play college baseball

But numbers alone don’t define us.

What truly sets Performance Advantage apart is our culture. We are a community of families who value discipline, teamwork, and growth. We challenge our players, support them through the ups and downs, and teach them how to compete with confidence both on and off the field.
Whether a player’s goal is to make their high school team, play at the next level, or simply become the best version of themselves,
Performance Advantage Baseball provides the structure, coaching, and support to help them get there.
This is more than a program.
It’s a pathway — and a place to call home.

Kevin McCarthy - Owner • Operator • Head Coach
Kevin McCarthy is the Owner, Operator, and Head Coach of Performance Advantage Baseball, bringing nearly two decades of experience in playing, coaching, and player development to the Central Valley.
Born and raised in Modesto, California, Kevin grew up in a competitive athletic family where discipline, work ethic, and accountability were foundational. He was a four-year, two-sport athlete at Beyer High School, earning All-League honors in both baseball and soccer before graduating in 2003.

Kevin continued his baseball career at Delta College, Modesto Junior College, and California State University, Stanislaus, where he became the starting second baseman during one of the program’s most successful stretches. He helped lead the team to its first 30-win season since 1991, earned All-Conference and All-West Region honors, was named a Rawlings Preseason All-American, and still holds the school record with 46 stolen bases in two seasons. He graduated from Stanislaus State with a degree in Health and Wellness.
In 2008, Kevin played professionally for the Chico Outlaws before transitioning into professional player development with the Modesto Nuts organization. That same year, he co-founded Performance Advantage Baseball with a clear vision: to build a development-first program focused on preparing players for high school and beyond.
Over the past 15+ years, Kevin has coached and trained athletes throughout the Central Valley and served as an Assistant Coach with the Modesto Nuts in 2011 under Jerry Weinstein within the Colorado Rockies organization. Outside of baseball, Kevin has worked as a physical education teacher and continues to serve his community with the Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Department, where he was recognized as Hero of the Year in 2021.
Since 2007, Kevin has helped hundreds of players earn high school roster spots and dozens advance to college baseball — all while maintaining a family-first, development-driven culture.
Kevin’s philosophy is simple:
Develop players the right way — with purpose, accountability, and long-term growth in mind.
